The 17th annual VIBE Dance Competition (the longest running hip hop competition on the West Coast) had another amazing year and PCE was called upon again to serve as the reliable production provider.

Put on by Lambda Theta Delta at the UCI Bren Events Center, VIBE’s purpose is philanthropic – but they sure know how to host a night of unforgettable entertainment! Like previous years, PCE provided full production including an LED video wall, flown above the stage with custom imagery designed for VIBE; eight Elation Powerspot moving lights to illuminate the entire stage; and many conventional fixtures for extra radiance. PCE’s Januel “Boomer” Luna was the onsite Production Manager; Mark Pearce mixed audio; and Shawn “Beaver” Southard designed lights on the Road Hog. Luna said, “The client was happy to have us back again, and we really enjoyed the show!”

Congratulations to this year’s VIBE Champions, Choreo Cookies (3-Peat)!!

With majestic San Jacinto mountains as a background and the Rancho Las Palmas Resort as the stage, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange’s St. Joseph Health System’s annual meeting and conference featured a simple, clean, understated style.

PCE’s Tim Hemrich designed and coordinated the show’s visual elements which included a translucent light-up stage, floor to ceiling white drape, and custom fabricated hanging tiles. “The set’s subtle elegance featured a mid-century, three dimensional, negative-space look which allowed lighting designer Dallas Lucero to work his magic,” states Hemrich. Lucero used a slew of Elation LED Design Bricks along with stage set and truss flown PowerSpot moving lights and conventional fixtures. Hemrich adds, “The PCE team executed the show design and remote set-ups flawlessly.”

The Jim Henson Company’s “Puppet Up! – Stuffed and Unstrung” stage production made it’s west coast premiere at the Irvine Barclay Theatre with technical support and equipment provided by PCE. The live show featured improvisational sketches performed in a mixed-format which allowed the audience to see the performers as puppeteers and puppets on screen as they’re conventionally experienced. PCE provided projection screens, an HD video camera, video distribution, show audio, technical support, and ancillary supplies. The “adults only” show is the latest incarnation of the company’s Puppet Up! series and as shows go, Puppet Up! is in a league of its own.<img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-263" title="Puppet Up!
Downtown Long Beach was the site for an evening block party as part of the week-long annual AOPA Conference. Aircraft enthusiasts from around the world descended on Long Beach and took to the streets for a night of live entertainment. Pacific Coast Entertainment was on-hand to provide the gear and personnel for the block-long event site. The main stage was serviced by EAW & QSC sound equipment, fed by the Yamaha M7 Digital Console. While the lighting rig consisting of LED’s and Power Spot 700’s under the control of PCE’s Road Hog, put on a show of its own. Also on hand was the amazing ICON A5 Sport Aircraft. This aircraft displayed on the street, also illuminated by eye popping LED luminaries, was a real show-stopper. PCE’s Tim Hemrich serving as Technical Director, managed all aspects of technical production. From stage and lighting design, to electrical permits, on through to execution, it was another flawless event.
