CSU Long Beach Smorgasport

In fall 2025, the California State University Long Beach event "Smorgasport" helped welcome students back to campus for a brand new academic year. The carnival-esque atmosphere included rides, games, food, and some well-placed PCE production. Our Apex 2016 Mobile Stage played host to a DJ booth that served as the event's focal point.

Tow rows of JBL VRX932LAP line array speakers flown from the stage served as the main PA for the festivities, augmented by additional JBL SRX835P powered speakers positioned throughout the grounds. A PCE audio engineer mixed the show via a side stage Allen & Heath Qu-16 audio console.

The stage featured two rows of Chauvet Rogue Outcast 2X Wash lights to spice things up. A PCE lighting designer programmed and ran the show with the easy-to-use Strand FLX S24 lighting console.

The PCE team is no stranger to the CSU Long Beach campus. Over the last few years, we've done numerous events there, including concerts featuring T-Pain and Swae Lee, a jiu-jitsu tournament, commencements, and even a production of The Sound of Music. We can't wait for our next CSU Long Beach gig!
